York Central: Christian Vassie, Lib Dems

Christian Vassie is the Liberal Democrat candidate for York Central and currently represents Wheldrake on the City of York council.

He spent two years as the Executive member for Leisure, Culture & Social Inclusion – where he was responsible for progress on the Community Stadium.

I heard your thoughts around the need to plan a stadium using funding from beyond York, but what I didn’t ‘hear’ from you was a commitment to getting a stadium built urgently in order to avoid York City FC becoming extinct. Just how do you intend to a site approved, plans approved, finance in place and the stadium built – what is your timescale for this happening?
